Forest Trail Cafe Review

Welcome back to Maggie's Java Journal! Today I will be reviewing Forest Trail House Cafe. Let's jump right in to a new review on my blog, Maggie's Java Journal! First off let's talk about the coffee there. I've only been to Forest Trail House twice and both times I got the lil' bunny coffee and I really liked it. My mom got a white chocolate raspberry mocha latte and she loved it, and my sister got the tipsy Irishmen and she liked it a lot! The coffee here is a 10 out of 10. Next up is the food. First I will review my favorite thing. In my opinion the chocolate muffin is the best, but some of the other food options include the chocolate chip bar and a vegan peanut butter muffin. The food menu is good but limited. Overall though the food is 9\10. And now for my favorite part of Forest Trail House, BOUNCE HOUSE!!!!!! That's right, there is a bounce house! I know I was just as excited as you are. Also there is sidewalk chalk and some additional games including...

Brakeman's Rewiew

Welcome or welcome back to Maggie's Java Journal! Today I will be reviewing Brakeman's cafe. Let's jump right in to our new review! The coffee was pretty good. There were some things that were AMAZING, like the chocolate raspberry latte and the hot coco. Other things were not the best, however I think the wide selection of good things makes up for the few not so great ones.  I personally LOVE the food! The cheese danish that I split with my mom was delicious!!!!!!! There was a large menu which is 100% a plus. All the food there is baked by the Community Culinary School of Charlotte. I like this place so much because there is stuff for kids! There are Legos, a chalk board, board games, and a large outdoor area where kids can run around. The option to bring kids is a very important factor for good cafes. Now for my favorite part...THE DECOR. The decor there is incredible! There is a whole bunch of antique stuff there including, a train ticket from 1968, old newspaper ads, an...

New Coffee Recipe!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys welcome back to Maggie's Java journal! I was experimenting with coffee this morning and I think I just made a masterpiece. It's really fun to make and the taste is so good! Let's jump right into the recipe! First fill your mug half way with coffee of your choice, I made it in a French press but if you don't have one any coffee will work. Next put a few drops of coffee mate chocolate caramel creamer. Then a cap full of mocha flavoring syrup.  After that some Twix shakers powder. Finally (Optional) froth your coffee and enjoy the flavor.  Until next time! Enjoy your coffee!

Playland Review

Welcome to this review on Maggie's Java journal. Today I will be reviewing Playland cafe. Let's jump right in. Their coffee was not bad per say but it wasn't the best. There was a large menu there and I've only ever gotten one thing so I'm sure that something in there is the most delicious thing ever but I just haven't had it yet. Just based on coffee I'd give it like a 5 out of 10. The food there is amazing!!! They have all kinds of waffles with all different flavors and toppings. I got a plain waffle with whip cream, nutella, and strawberries. It was insanely good. Food wise I would give it a 10 out of 10. And now for the reason I love this place so much...drum roll please... The play place! Yes there is a massive indoor play place. There are big slides, lots of climbing areas, a ball pit, a play kitchen, and a baby\toddler area. And a very interesting fact about the ball pit is, they have a machine that sucks in the balls cleans them and shoots them back...

Cafe Moka Review

Welcome to a new review on Maggie's Java Journal. This review is on Cafe Moka. I very much enjoyed going here and I hope you go there and enjoy it just as much as I did. The coffee there was great. They had a kids beverage menu. I got a kids hot coco and absolutely loved it! They also had smoothies, I didn't try one but I assume for how good the coffee and hot coco were that they would be good too. They had a limited food menu. I split the cosmic cookie with my mom. It was a really good cookie but I just wish there were more options. Overall the food was really good. There was a lot of stuff on the kids menu and outdoor seating right next to some sprinklers  which is great for kids to play in. There is also a small field to play in right outside. The decor was AMAZING! There was some 80's themed stuff and also a lot of tiger things. The overall vibe there was great. My only dislike about the inside is the size, it was just a little bit small. I give Cafe Moka  9\10 stars...

Rendezbrew review

Welcome to my review of one my favorite cafes, Rendezbrew. Rendezbrew is an excellent cafe in my opinion. There is a lot to do there, and much more than just coffee.  The coffee and hot chocolate there are one of the best things I have ever tasted. My two personal favorites are the toasted marshmallow hot coco and the hot vanilla chai. Rendezbrew also offers coffee  flights with flavors that vary by the month. The food there is also very good. Their bagels are absolutely supreme! I love there plain bagel with butter on it.  Another great food option is the chocolate croissant which is filled with whip cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Rendezbrew has excellent decor. There are many plants of all sorts there. I love the beautiful paintings at Rendezbrew. I personally adore the aesthetic there. Rendezbrew is great for kids. They have a stack of books and board\card games. There are also books for adults there. Rendezbrew also has an outdoor seating option which gives ...
